The Referral Process

Any agency and/or school can make a System of Care Referral.  The System of Care staffing process is meant to assist those families who have worked with a variety of agencies and are still not seeing the results that they would like to for their children.

Referral process
  1. If you are not the lead agency (the lead agency is usually the one with the most frequent or longest time working with the family), speak with the lead agency about your desire to refer to the System of Care
  2. The lead agency should fill out the System of Care Referral Form and send it to Kim Farris-Wilson at Compass Health
  3. The staff at Compass Health will schedule the staffing in collaboration with partnering agencies

Please remember the following
  • The System of Care staffing process is a last resort referral, not a first resort referral.  Make sure you have attempted to reach out to the partnering organizations to make appropriate referrals.
  • After referring to appropriate services, make sure you allow enough time for treatment to take effect prior to assuming it's not working.
  • Make sure the families understand that we need their involvement in order to staff a child/youth through System of Care.  In 99% of the cases, this is a voluntary process for the families.

For further referral information contact Kim Farris-Wilson with Compass Health Network.
