Mental Health Services for Children and Youth
Compass Health Network, Inc.*
Compass Health Network in partnership with Family Advocacy and Community Training (FACT) serves families in their Partnership with Families program. Partnership with Families uses a strength based, wrap-around approach to serve youth with serious emotional disorders (SED) and their families. The Integrated Health Specialist is responsible for helping the families create a team of individuals to assist in meeting the goals of the family. The Integrated Health Specialist works with the entire family in order to help them achieve their goals, strengthen their relationships and create an environment which empowers the family to gradually take on the responsibility. FACT will provide Parent Support Partners for families served under the Partnership with Families. A Parent Support Partner is a parent of a child with disabilities or SED that has already been through the ups and downs of working in multiple systems. Many families of children with SED are weary of “professionals”. Having another parent that has “been there, done that” to help guide them and mentor them in skills of parenting and advocacy makes the whole program much more effective and efficient.
