Developmental Services

Disability Resource Connection
Disability Resource Connection was formed under the “SB40” legislation in Franklin County in 1987.  Under this legislation, money generated through a county tax is designated to provide services for persons with developmental disabilities.

Eligible persons have conditions such as an Intellectual Disability, Cerebral Palsy, Epilepsy, Autism, or similar conditions.  They have difficulty in areas such as learning, self-care, holding a job, or being independent.

The SB40 Resource Board offers service coordination that connects, links, and advocates for those they serve.

Abilities

Support Services Assisting adults with developmental disabilities to live in the community in a manner in which they choose.
Early Intervention Assisting families with children under the age of three who have delays in any developmental area or a diagnosed condition.
Behavioral Support Providing evidence-based and effective Behavioral Support and Consultation using Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).  Studies have demonstrated that ABA techniques can produce improvements in communication, social relationships, play, self care, school and employment. These studies involved age groups ranging from preschoolers to adults. Results for all age groups showed that ABA increased participation in family and community activities.
Life Ops Providing adults with developmental disabilities a creative environment to maintain and develop adaptive skills that prepare them for life opportunities- relationships, independent living and employment.
